ACA Health Insurance Help Across Michigan
I'm Dameicos Dickson, a licensed Michigan agent. I compare 2027 Marketplace plans from Blue Cross, Priority Health, Oscar, Ambetter and more, find every dollar of subsidy you qualify for, and handle the enrollment with you. My help costs you nothing.
Three dates that decide your coverage
5 things changing on your ACA plan
Last year's plan isn't this year's plan. Here's what's moving, and what to do about each one before you renew.
Premiums are rising
The median proposed increase nationally is about 15%. If your subsidy doesn't rise in step with your plan's price, you pay the difference.
Do this: compare your after-subsidy price, not last year's bill.
Some plans are ending
Insurers are leaving markets in 20+ states. When a plan ends, the Marketplace can auto-assign a replacement you never picked.
Do this: confirm your doctors and prescriptions are still covered.
Out-of-pocket max goes up
The individual limit rises to $12,000 in 2027, up from $10,600. A low premium can hide a much bigger worst-case bill.
Do this: check the deductible and max, not just the monthly price.
The subsidy cliff is back
Above 400% of the poverty level ($63,840 for a single person in 2027), there's no premium tax credit. Subsidies are based on your projected 2027 income.
Do this: update your income estimate. Pre-tax savings can lower it.
Eligibility is narrowing
Some lawfully present immigrants lose subsidy eligibility in 2027, and catastrophic plans go back to under-30 or hardship only.
Do this: if it affects you, price your options early.
See your 2027 price and subsidy in a few minutes.
Check My 2027 Plan
Same plans. Same prices. Someone in your corner.
Marketplace premiums are the same whether you enroll alone or with me. The difference is a licensed agent who reads the fine print with you.
- No cost to you. You never pay me for help, comparisons or enrollment.
- More than one carrier. I put several insurers side by side so you're not stuck with one company's options.
- A real coverage audit. I look for the gaps in your current plan: networks, drug lists, deductibles.
- Help after you enroll. Billing questions, income changes, life events: you call me, not a hotline.

ACA Open Enrollment FAQ
Does it cost more to enroll through an agent?
No. Marketplace premiums are the same whether you enroll on your own or with a licensed agent, and my help costs you nothing.
I don't think I can afford health insurance. Should I still look?
Yes. Subsidies are based on your projected 2027 income and household size, and many people pay far less than the sticker price. Check before you decide. It takes one conversation.
Can I just let my plan auto-renew?
You can, but it's risky this year. Prices, networks and out-of-pocket limits change for 2027, and if your plan is discontinued you may be moved into a replacement automatically. A quick review can save you from surprises in January.
What if I miss the December 15 deadline?
You can still enroll through January 15. Your coverage just starts February 1 instead of January 1.
I'm self-employed. How do I estimate my income?
Use your best projection of 2027 net self-employment income. Retirement and HSA contributions can lower the number that counts. We'll work through it together and you can update it during the year.
Do you meet in person?
Yes, by appointment at my Farmington Hills office. I also help by phone and text anywhere in Michigan.
